A baby Philippine Eagle-Owl (Bubo philippensis) is one of the wildlife species being taken cared of by the Irosin Temporary Wildlife Rescue Center (ITWRC) in Irosin, Sorsogon before its release to its natural habitat. A number of wildlife species were turned over by concerned citizens to the Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (PENRO) Sorsogon, which they in turn either release to the wild or transport to the ITWRC for its rehabilitation. The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Bicol continuously monitors the conditions of such wildlife species and appeals to the public to report incidents and turn over any wildlife to proper authorities for proper handling and release to its natural habitat. Massive information, education and communication (IEC) campaigns are being conducted by the DENR, which have caused increasing numbers of public turn overs to the office.
