In line with this year's Women's Month celebration, employees of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) V Regional Office, Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Offices (PENROs) and Community Environment and Natural Resources Offices (CENROs) sport purple tops and clothes including accessories today, March 1, 2023 at the DENR V Regional Office, Rawis, Legazpi City.
 
With the theme, "WE for gender equality and inclusive society" the celebration aims to celebrate the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women.
 
DENR Bicol under the leadership of Regional Executive Director (RED) Francisco E. Milla, Jr. enjoins the public to join the call to advance women’s rights and gender equality and end discrimination against women.
 
The month of March was declared as Women's Role in History by virtue of Presidential Proclamation No. 227 series of 1998. Moreover, Republic Act 6949 series of 1990 declares March 8 of every year as International Women’s Day.
