The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) V headed by Regional Executive Director (RED) Francisco E. Milla Jr. celebrated the International Day of the Forest 2023 through the launching of the 2nd Yamang Gubat Trade Fair with the theme, “Forest and Health” held at Ayala Malls Legazpi on March 21, 2023.
 
The activity, which was participated in by fourteen (14) local exhibitors, aims to engage the public in honoring the forests by advocating sustainable forest resources consumption and production, regionwide.
Moreover, it also targets to support and showcase the forest-related products and sustainable practices of our partner stakeholders.
 
The exhibited local products included handmade abaca and rattan products, furnitures, wooden materials, cutleries, handicrafts, home decors, mats, bamboo novelty items, plants, Pili, cocoa, food items, Citronella essential oils, dishwashing soap, repellant, lotion and soaps.
 
In his message, DENR V RED Milla expressed his gratitude to all participants and exhibitors for their effort and support to promote environmental preservation and conservation. “Forests are very generous and giving, but they are vulnerable. So, immediate actions for its conservation and protection should be our top priority. Together, let us build a safe and healthy environment for the present and future generations,” he said.
