In celebration of the 2021 International Day of Forests (IDF), some 150 seedlings of Mahogany species were planted by the personnel of Community Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) San Jacinto and volunteers from the Rizal Integrated School (RIS) at the highlands of Barangay Rizal, Monreal, Masbate.

San Jacinto CENR Officer Basil Cesar S. Camba said that the tree planting activity is very significant because it will help support the need for water supply of the communities for domestic and irrigation purposes when properly tended.

For her part, Ms. Vivien Co, the School Principal of the Rizal Integrated School expressed the commitment of the school in tending the planted seedlings as they also plan to have activities for its maintenance and protection with the help of their Supreme Student Council.
