The Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (PENRO) of Catanduanes headed by PENRO Imelda D. Baltazar together with some DENR personnel celebrated the 2021 World Wildlife Day with the theme, “Forests and Livelihoods: Sustaining People and Planet” at Barangay Hiyop, Pandan, Catanduanes on March 3, 2021.

A Brahminy Kite rescued and rehabilitated in the Municipality of Pandan was released back to the wild on the same date. The activity was conducted in collaboration with the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Pandan led by Mayor Honesto C. Tabligan III. Likewise, it was also part of the intensified efforts of the LGU in protecting and conserving the environment and its natural resources.

Also, the status of wildlife during pandemic as well as the role of forest occupants were also discussed during the Information Education Campaign (IEC) activity at Brgy. Sabloyon, Caramoran, Catanduanes. PENRO Baltazar expressed her gratitude to all the participants of the activity and emphasized the importance of their role in the protection of wildlife and conservation of the natural resources in their community.
