Two hundred eight (208) pieces of abandoned and undocumented Red and White Lauan lumber were recently apprehended by the Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (PENRO) Camarines Norte led by OIC, PENR Officer Marlon C. Francia through its Monitoring and Enforcement Section together with the 902nd Infantry Brigade Philippine Army Operatives at Purok 5, Barangay Baay, Labo, Camarines Norte.

The apprehending team found a total volume of 7,023 board feet or 16.68 cubic meters of lumber during the operation. The abandoned forest products were consequently hauled at the 902nd Infantry Brigade Philippine Army, Tulay na Lupa, Labo, Camarines Norte for temporary custody following the administrative confiscation proceedings.

The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Bicol is reminding the public to refrain from cutting and collecting forest products without permit as prohibited under the Presidential Decree 705 or the “Forestry Reform Code of the Philippines”. Anyone proven violating the law shall be penalized accordingly.
