In a bid to make public land titling more accessible and transparent, the Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (PENRO) of Sorsogon headed by OIC, PENR Officer Tito R. Migo conducted a mass acceptance of applications for titling of public alienable and disposable lands in the municipality of Barcelona, Sorsogon headed by Mayor Cynthia Falcotelo-Fortes on December 9, 2020.

PENRO Sorsogon targets at least 444 lots both residential and agricultural lands to be patented.

The activity was conducted pursuant to DENR Secretary Roy A. Cimatu’s directive to expedite land titling and also to bring the land titling services closer to the people in the barangays.

Meanwhile, the DENR has reminded the public especially the Filipino farmers who want to avail of the government’s agricultural free patent program to file their applications on or before December 31, 2020 pursuant to the deadline set under Republic Act 9176, otherwise known as the Public Land Act of 2002.
