The Provincial Foreshore Development and Management Plan (PFDMP) for Camarines Norte was presented by the Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (PENRO) staff on September 16, 2019 at the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) V Conference Room, Rawis, Legazpi City.

The PFDMP's mission is to spearhead the implementation of programs, projects and activities for the protection, development and management of the provinces' foreshore areas in the realization of its vision through participative governance. Camarines Norte covers twelve (12) municipalities and nine (9) from these have coastal areas, namely: Mercedes, Basud, Talisay, Vinzons, Paracale, Jose Panganiban, Capalonga, Daet - the smallest foreshore area and Santa Elena, which has the biggest foreshore area.

The presentation showed the socio-economic conditions, issues, concerns, opportunities and constraints in foreshore utilization and management. The proposed projects, criteria, and activities were also highlighted.

Furthermore, the DENR will chair the organizational structure as per National Foreshore Master Plan and will be co-chaired by the Provincial Government. The Foreshore Management Council (FMC) shall also be formed to craft and implement action plans that will coordinate with the PFDMP including all activities that will utilize the foreshore in partnership with different stakeholders.###
