P283K WORTH HOT LOGS SEIZED IN MASBATE PROVINCE

The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Bicol through the Community Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) Mobo, Masbate headed by CENR Officer Jean Imperial apprehended two hundred sixty four (264) pieces of Lauan Lumber with a total volume of four thousand seven hundred sixteen (4,716) board feet with an estimated market value of PHP 282,960.00 aboard a motorized banca with a total market value of PHP 1.5 Million.

The illegal transport of the forest products was foiled by the Philippine National Police Maritime Group through PSMS Rommel A Martinez, PCPL PJ M Branzuela and a composite team of DENR Masbate.

The apprehension was undertaken on September 1, 2019 at around 4:00 in the morning at the shorelines of Barangay Bunducan, Pio V. Corpuz, Masbate.

Apprehended items were subsequently transferred to DENR Masbate pursuant to the provisions on administrative apprehension, seizure and confiscation under Presidential Decree 705, otherwise known as the Forestry Reform Code of the Philippines.###
