PENRO CAMARINES SUR LEADS 2023 WORLD WILDLIFE DAY. The Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (PENRO) Camarines Sur headed by PENR Officer Ronnel B. Astor conducted a Communication, Education, and Public Awareness (CEPA) Campaign on Republic Act (RA) No. 9147 or the Wildlife Resources Conservation and Protection Act, and RA 11038 or the Expanded National Integrated Protected Areas System Act of 2018 at Barangay Panicuason, Naga City, Camarines Sur on March 3, 2023. The activity was held in celebration of the World Wildlife Day with the theme, “Partnerships for Wildlife Conservation”. It was participated in by the barangay officials, socio-civic and volunteer groups. Barangay Panicuason is one of the 23 barangays surrounding Mt. Isarog Natural Park (MINP), which hosts numerous species of wild flora and fauna. (With report from PENRO Camarines Sur)

SAN JACINTO, MASBATE CELEBRATES 2023 WORLD WILDLIFE DAY. The Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (PENRO) Masbate headed by OIC, PENR Officer Benito B. Salazar, Community Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) San Jacinto headed by OIC, CENR Officer Basil Cesar S. Camba conducted an information drive on Republic Act (RA) No. 9147 or the Wildlife Resources Conservation and Protection Act, Presidential Decree No. 705 or the Forestry Reform Code of the Philippines and the impacts of climate change at Barangay Poblacion, District IV in San Jacinto, Masbate on March 3, 2023. The activity was participated in by the officials and residents of the barangay. Another information drive was conducted at the Bagahanglad National High School at Barangay Bagahanglad, San Jacinto, Masbate and was participated in by the faculty members and students of the said school. MASBATE CELEBRATES 2023 WORLD WILDLIFE DAY. With the theme, “Partnerships for Wildlife Conservation”, the Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (PENRO) Masbate headed by OIC, PENR Officer Benito B. Salazar, Community Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) Mobo headed by CENR Officer Jean V. Imperial and the Municipal Local Government Unit (MLGU) of Pio V. Corpus headed by Mayor Allan T. Lepasan conducted a cleanup drive in celebration of the World Wildlife Day (2023) at Barangay Casabangan, Pio V. Corpus on March 3, 2023. It was participated in by officials and residents of the barangay, faculty members and students of Casabangan Elementary School (CES), and personnel of the Philippine National Police (PNP) Pio V. Corpus. A total of ten (10) sacks of solid wastes were collected. Also, an information drive on wildlife conservation was conducted at CES. (With report from PENRO Masbate)

PENRO SORSOGON, LGU JUBAN SPEARHEAD 2023 WORLD WILDLIFE DAY. The Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (PENRO) Sorsogon headed by OIC, PENR Officer Tito R. Migo and the Municipal Local Government Unit of Juban headed by Mayor Gloria I. Alindogan spearheaded the World Wildlife Day (WWD) celebration through an information drive on wildlife conservation and habitat protection at the Community Fish Landing Center, Barangay Tughan, Juban, Sorsogon. The activity was participated in by the officials and residents of the barangay. Barangay Tughan is one of the areas identified within the proposed Juban Wetland Critical Habitat, which is being monitored by PENRO Sorsogon since the numerous sightings of wild ducks in 2020. PUBLIC STAKEHOLDERS LEARN PROPER WILDLIFE HANDLING DURING THE 2023 WWD CELEBRATION. A personnel of the Philippine National Police (PNP) Albay applied his learnings on basic proper wildlife handling during the World Wildlife Day (WWD) celebration with the theme, “Partnerships for Wildlife Conservation” at the APW, Bogtong, Legazpi City on March 3, 2023. The activity was spearheaded by the DENR V Regional Office, Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (PENRO) Albay, Energy Development Corporation (EDC)-Bacman Geothermal Project, Albay Parks and Wildlife (APW), and the Provincial Government of Albay at the APW, Bogtong, Legazpi City on March 3, 2023. The lecture and practicum was participated in by personnel of the Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA) Regional Office, PNP Albay, Local Government Units (LGUs) of Legazpi, Guinobatan, Libon, Tiwi, Camalig, Bacacay, Ligao, Pio Duran, Malinao, Daraga, Tabaco and Polangui.
