MOO Quiz Bee Champion

2ND MOO QUIZ BEE CHAMPION AWARDED. DENR V Regional Executive Director (RED) Francisco E. Pawa Mangrove Park

PAWA MANGROVE PARK ADJUDGED AS BEST MANGROVE. The Local Government Unit (LGU) of Masbate City represented by City Councilor Alberto R. Abayon together with employees of the LGU Masbate City received the Gawad Iba Ka Juan - Best Mangrove Award for the Pawa Mangrove Park during the Culmination Program of the Month of the Ocean (MOO) 2022 on May 26, 2022 in Legazpi City. The Pawa Mangrove Park will be the entry of the Bicol Region for the upcoming Para El Mar Awards, a biennial event which gives recognition to the best performing local Marine Protected Areas (MPAs) in terms of practices and management. Also, the Mercedes Critical Habitat in Mercedes, Camarines Norte was awarded as 1st Runner-up and Panganiban Mangrove Area in Gubat, Sorsogon as 2nd Runner-up.

Quiz BeeDENR BICOL CONDUCTS 2ND MOO QUIZ BEE CONTEST ELIMINATION ROUND. Participants from the different offices of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) regionwide raise their answers during the 2nd Quiz Bee Elimination Round. The contest was spearheaded by the Conservation and Development Division (CDD) in celebration of the Month of the Ocean (MOO) with the theme, “Protect and Restore the Ecosystems and Biodiversity”. 10 participants made it to the final round which will be held on May 25, 2022. The 10 finalists will compete against each other and the winner will compete against the 1st MOO Quiz Bee Champion John Mark Violeta of the Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (PENRO) Camarines Norte. Cash prizes and tokens will be awarded to the winners.

WINNING IMAGE FOR THE IDBD 2022 PHOTO MARATHON CONTEST. A local fisherfolk checking out his fish net for some catch in the middle of the Bulusan Lake at the Bulusan Volcano Natural Park (BVNP) became one of the subjects of the DENR Bicol Team Oragon for the Kabahagi: An International Day for Biological Diversity (IDBD) 2022 Capture Quest, a photo marathon contest organized by the DENR Biodiversity Management Bureau (BMB) in partnership with Canon Philippines. The straight-out-of-camera photo was the entry for the Open Category and also one of the five photos which won in the said Contest.
