DENR MASBATE, STAKEHOLDERS CELEBRATE 2023 WORLD WETLANDS DAY IN MASBATE. The Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (PENRO) Masbate headed by OIC, PENR Officer Benito B. Salazar, Community Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) Mobo headed by CENR Officer Jean V. Imperial and CENRO San Jacinto headed by OIC, CENR Officer Basil Cesar S. Camba together with partner stakeholders led the World Wetlands Day (WWD) Celebration with the theme, “It’s Time for Wetland Restoration” on February 2, 2023 in the province of Masbate. Some 120 mangrove propagules and 235 native tree seedlings were planted and a total of 20 sacks of solid wastes were collected during the cleanup drives at Barangays Bontod, Palanas and Almiñe, San Jacinto. In addition, information, education and communication (IEC) drives were also held at the Rondina Atendido National High School at Barangay Nabangig, Palanas and San Jacinto National High School in Poblacion District 2, San Jacinto, both in Masbate.
