DENR BICOL, LGU IROSIN TIES UP FOR WATER RESOURCE USE PERMITTING. The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Bicol headed by Regional Executive Director Francisco E. Milla, Jr., CESO III in partnership with the Local Government Unit of Irosin, Sorsogon spearheaded the annual celebration of the World Water Day (WWD) through a Communication, Education and Public Awareness (CEPA) campaign on March 25, 2022 at Nature Spring Resort, Irosin, Sorsogon. With the global theme, “Ground Water: Making the Invisible Visible”, this year’s celebration adopted the central promise of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development with the aim to generate actions from various stakeholders to ensure access to safe water by 2030. Regional Executive Director Milla said that the CEPA campaign is aimed at raising the awareness of every Bicolano to save our natural resources, particularly our forests and water resources and to sustain development for the future generations to come. The yearly conduct of this event is based on the proclamation of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) on December 22, 1992 proclaiming every 22nd day of March as the World Day for Water.
