A female Green Sea turtle (Chelonia mydas) was found dead on the shores of Basud, Camarines Norte on February 11, 2021 at Barangay Taba-taba, Basud Camarines Norte. The sea turtle was found by Mr. Fernando Ilan Jr. and Hector Magana who reported the incident to Basud Mayor Adrian Davoco who consequently relayed the report to the Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (PENRO) Camarines Norte under the leadership of PENR Officer Marlon C. Francia. Upon investigation, the Green Sea turtle has a curved carapace length of 1.2 meters and a width of 2 meters and weighs 50 to 60 kilograms. It was then immediately buried after the assessment with the assistance of the residents of the said barangay. (With report from PENRO Camarines Norte)
