DENR UBRDEC TEACHES RESIDENTS OF LIBMANAN, CAMARINES ON HOW TO MAKE BIOCHAR. Engr. Niro M. Villaceran (in yellow green shirt) and For. Darwin Molina (blue shirt) of the Urban and Biodiversity Research Development and Extension Center (UBRDEC) assisted a participant in making biochar also called as “Uling ng Buhay”, which are carbonized biomass or charcoal, which is made from sustainable sources and sequestered in soils during the Communication, Education and Public Awareness (CEPA) on Bamboo Establishment, Management and Bamboo Charcoal Briquette Technology on August 29, 2019 at Barangay Bahao, Libmanan, Camarines Sur. The activity was spearheaded by the Community Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) of Sipocot headed by CENR Officer Eduardo C. Ampongan in partnership with UBRDEC. Residents of the Barangays of Salvacion and Bahao, Libmanan, Camarines Sur participated in the activity.###
