CORAL REEF RESTORATION AT GAMBAN REEF. Forester I Ben John Rellama from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) V - Community Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) of Goa plants coral reefs at the Gamban Reef Marine Sanctuary in Presentacion, Camarines Sur. CENRO Goa together with the Municipal Local Government Unit (MLGU) of Presentacion, Camarines Sur and the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) V joined in the coral reef restoration spearheaded by the United States (US) Peace Corps from July 30 to August 1, 2019. The DENR V in partnership with other volunteer organizations has previously conducted similar activities in various parts of the region in its efforts to enhance marine biodiversity. Moreover, with the Gamban Reef Marine Sanctuary as a thriving ecotourism destination, the DENR enjoins the public to be responsible tourists and to keep in mind the leave no trace principle in order to conserve and protect marine biodiversity.
