A total of 8,000 board feet of assorted forest products were confiscated by the Community Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO Iriga headed by CENR Officer Nestor Franz Fortuno together with the Philippine National Police of Iriga City on August 16, 2019 in a residential compound at San Isidro, Iriga City, Camarines Sur. The forest products were transferred to the CENRO Iriga for temporary safekeeping. Criminal charges will be filed to the owner of the lot where the forest products were found by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) for violating the Presidential Decree 705 or the Revised Forestry Code of the Philippines. The DENR has intensified its operations to curb illegal logging and other environmental crimes. Moreover, the office calls on the public to report any violations of any environmental law.
