1ST QUARTER PAMB MEETING FOR BVNP HELD

The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) V OIC, Regional Executive Director and Chairman of the Protected Area Management Board (PAMB) of Bulusan Volcano Natural Park (BVNP) Atty. Gil A. Aromin presided over the 1^st Quarter PAMB Meeting for the BVNP on January 15, 2020 at Casa Dominga, Balogo, Sorsogon City. The meeting focused on the presentation of the development projects initiated by then Senator now Sorsogon Governor Francis “Chiz” Escudero within the Protected Area (PA) of the BVNP. The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), likewise, presented their plans with regards to the construction of tourism facilities at the Bulusan Lake. Also, some Grade 12 STEM students from Sorsogon National High School presented their proposed study about the Jade Vine as an alternative anticancer medicine, which blooms at the BVNP. The PAMB is the governing body of a protected area composed of different stakeholders who directly and indirectly benefit from the park and its resources.
