Cadastral Survey Project
One of the program priorities of the LMB is the fast tracking of the cadastral survey project in the country. The program is instrumental in efficient patent distribution and accelerating countryside development.
As of CY 2010, a total of 1,627 cities and municipalities including land areas within the Autonomous Region of Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) were covered under cadastral survey activities. This represents a total of 34,328,203 hectares hereunder disaggreated as follows:

STATUS OF CADASTRAL SURVEY AS OF CY 2010
The conduct of cadastral survey was programmed to be completed over a period of year starting from CY 2007 to CY 2010 with areas totaling 143 citites and municipalities comprising of 1,420,894 hectares. However, the program depends upon the approval of all cadastral surevey projects targeted for the said period.
To date, only two (2) Political Boundary surveys were approved (Jomalig and Real, Quezon), with thirty-seven (37) municipalitites still undergoing field survey, and thirty-two (32) are under Inspection, Verification and Approval of Surveys (IVAS).

Notes:
1. This activity was devolved to LGUs pursuant to DENR Administrative Order No. 3 dated June 30, 1992,
but was given back to LMB by virtue of DAO 23 dated Aug. 29, 2001.
2. Importance of Cadastral Survey:
I. Facilitates the government s land titling program
a. titles provide security of tenure
b. Titles can be used as collateral to loan
II. Support Taxation
III. Serves as basis in the settlement of political boundary disputes
IV. Supports the planning, management and decision making processes.
