Rescued hawk eagles, hornbills turned over to Albay Park and Wildlife
The Department of Environment and Natural Resources Bicol turned over yesterday four juvenile birds rescued in Brgy. Tabugon, Sta. Elena, Camarines Norte last May 20, 2014.
Alice Mata of CENRO Daet handed over a crested hawk eagle, a Philippine hawk eagle and two Rufous hornbills to Fidel Mateum of the Albay Park and Wildlife for treatment and rehabilitation until they are healthy enough to be released into their natural habitat.

She likewise said that a case was filed against Wilbert Era, bus conductor of Twin Hearts bus for violation of Republic Act 9147 or the Wildlife Conservation and Protection Act.
Era was caught in possession of the juvenile birds, which are considered as threatened species under the statute.
If found guilty of the offense the bus conductor shall suffer the indeterminate penalty of six months and 1 day as minimum and one year as maximum or a fine of 10,000 pesos to 100,000 pesos.
