DENR Bicol donates lumber to Masbate National Comprehensive High School
The Department of Environment and Natural Resources Bicol through the Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office of Masbate donated 562.26 board feet (bd. ft) of confiscated assorted lumbers to Masbate National Comprehensive High School March 14, 2014.
PENRO Tito Migo reported that the donation was valued at 33,735.60 pesos of assorted lumbers which will be used in fabricating new arm chairs of the MNCHS.
Confiscated lumbers that are free from all liens and encumbrances and with no cases filed in court are automatically considered part of DENR assets.
“Donations like this is in compliance with the directive of Environment Secretary Ramon Paje ordering all DENR Offices to donate all confiscated logs and lumber without court cases to Department of Education (DepEd) and other agencies of the government in need of such.,” Migo said.
The DENR for years, has donated confiscated lumbers to DepEd to be used in constructing schools, fabrication of arm chairs, desks, etc..
Last year, the donation to Deped and other agencies was estimated at 1,645 bd. ft. or valued at 98,700 pesos.
