ADVANCE PHOTOGRAPHY TRAINING FOR DENR BICOL EMPLOYEES HELD
A training dubbed, “Enhanced Photography Skills Workshop for Information Officers” was sponsored by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) V through the Human Resource Development Section (HRDS) and the Regional Public Affairs Office (RPAO) held on August 6 to 7, 2018 in Albay, Legazpi City.
Designated information officers and representatives from the Regional, Field Offices and attached bureaus of DENR V participated in the event.
Topics discussed by renowned photographer Butch V. Alfane included DSLR camera menu settings, functions, basic shooting controls, exposure settings, composition techniques and basic Adobe Lightroom fundamentals. A photo walk was also done for the participants to apply their learnings on photography, which was followed by a photo critiquing session.
The conduct of the workshop was deemed necessary to equip the personnel with the necessary knowledge and skills to document properly the activities, programs and projects of the department.

DENR BICOL HEAPS ON EFFORTS FOR THE RAPU-RAPU MINE REHABILITATION
The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Bicol headed by OIC-Regional Executive Director (RED) Atty. Gil A. Aromin heaps on its efforts for the Rapu-Rapu Mine Rehabilitation.
Officer-In-Charge Assistant Secretary for Field Operations/Southern Luzn Reynulfo Juan said in a meeting on February 6, 2019 together with the DENR Bicol Officials that there is a need to discose to the public the status of the mine rehabilitation to demonstrate the ecological balance in the area and the existing management plans being implemented by the Department.
Atty. Arnel P. Rodriguez, Assistant Regional Director for Managment Services, said that it is the law and the program of DENR to rehabilitate the Rau-Rapu mine.
Further, Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) V Director Guillermo C. Molina Jr., IV said that the Department's mine rehabilitation development plan indicated eco-tourism as the final land use.
"This will ensure alternative skill and sustainable livelihood opportunities for former mine employees and their dependents," Director Molina said. ### (Article by: JMM)
