PEOPLE’S DAY IN CATANDUANES HELD

Residents of Barangay Sabloyon, Caramoran, Catanduanes participated in the People’s Day program conducted by the Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (PENRO) of Catanduanes.

Lectures on various topics ranging from ecological solid waste management, National Greening Program (NGP), forest utilization and land titling were discussed by the PENRO technical staff.

The conduct of People’s Day was initiated by former Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Secretary Gina Lopez in 2016 with the aim to bring DENR and its program closer to the public and for the agency to become more responsive to the concerns and issues of the community.

DENR BICOL CONDUCTS LEARNING EVENT ON STRATEGIC MARKETING COMMUNICATION

Key officials of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) V participated in a learning event on Strategic Marketing Communication in Legazpi City on November 12 - 13, 2018.

Carmelita B. Masigan-Walton, Managing Director and Communication/Marketing and Multicultural Programs Training Consultant of MW LEADS Management Consulting, expounded topics on program and situation analysis, the principles of synergy and integration, public relations practice, environmental scanning, reinforcing the concept of SWOT and PESTEL analysis, goal and objectives setting and generation of campaign materials.

The workshop was conducted to enhance the strategies used by DENR V in dealing with public relations and improve its information, education and communication campaigns (IECs).### (Article by: Jade N. Loria)
